Ottoline Dinner Plate, Set of 4
A plate wide enough for a branzino with herbs, or a tangle of spaghetti alle vongole, without the food crowding the border. A continuous wave of hand-painted spirals winds around the rim — each one a loose teal curl, dotted at the centre, carried along a pale blue line the full circumference — with two concentric rings, one teal and one pale blue, dividing it cleanly from the well. The scrolls shift slightly from one plate to the next: same hand, different moment.
Tess Newall developed the motifs in this collection from English garden fireplaces and country houses, the Bloomsbury Group's painted interiors among them, alongside the Italian majolica and French faience collected by artists of that era on their travels.
Sold as a set of four, each plate is slightly different. Hand-painted in Portugal.
